To many people outside of the realm of computer science, this may seem like a foreign idea, but this is far from the truth. In fact, AI is a common function ingrained within the technology of your very home.

The use of AI has transformed nearly every aspect of functional industries, including gaming. As society is changing and becoming more advanced, a social need has developed for games to become even more realistic and challenging. That’s where AI comes to play; games created by developers implementing AI-powered tools has changed the scenario of video games as they have become more engaging and realistic.

To start off, AI in games is used to generate adaptive, responsive and intelligent behaviors. This includes offering a personalized experience to game players. For instance, AI helps generate real-time customization scenarios like the creation of the elements of the game environment as levels, music with automation, or even multiple-way dialogs. AI also inspects the behavior of the user, such as the repeated parts of the game or difficult section for the user. This helps developers fix problems and improve the game itself.

In a world where STEM is quickly becoming prevalent and necessary for both academic and professional endeavors, teaching students and providing them with a passion for STEM is necessary. However, many communities, including refugee, economically disadvantaged, and underrepresented minority communities, do not have access to the resources to provide their children with education in STEM fields. Our CuriouSTEM journey began in the Summer of 2019 in order to provide underprivileged students equitable paths to success in science, math, and technology. We are committed to educating students in order to close the STEM opportunity gap.
